ARIZONA TRUSTEE ASSOCIATION says farewell.
Deeds of Trust were statutorily created as an alternative to traditional Mortgages in 1973. The Arizona Trustee Association was formed in 1987 to resist legislation that would have impacted the trustee’s sale process, to develop future legislation designed to provide consistency in the process and ensure enforceability of title after a trustee’s sale was held. It became an organization which educated its members on all related areas of the law, and to provide information, expertise and opinions on non-judicial foreclosure issues.
But after almost 40 years since its formation, the trustee’s sale industry changed. As the early pioneers in the industry aged, their interest and passion in the ATA was not replaced by younger members. National networks of foreclosure service providers, an orientation towards law firm handling of all aspects of the process, and consolidation into few providers, limited the ATA’s resources. As a result, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization in 2025.
Land Title Association of Arizona and its members were very involved in the early years. The goals and interests of each organization have matched and been aligned the entire time. Each utilized the same lobbyist. LTAA has agreed to allow former ATA members to join LTAA in a capacity which continues to develop and be clarified. The important goal of monitoring and proposing legislation to protect the integrity of the industry will continue. Read more about the LTAA >>
There were many great conferences, lunches and annual meetings throughout the years. There were many friendships created and business relationships developed. Thanks to everyone who was a member or involved. Thanks for the memories.
